Services

We offer a wide variety of dental services for both children and adults:

Initial Consultation

Most of the patients come with a specific dental need. They may have crooked, crowded or missing teeth, yellow stained teeth or they maybe suffering pain from teeth or gums.

Very nominal fee are charged for this first consultation and we are able to give the patient a broad picture of what is necessary to restore the mouth to maximum health, function and beauty.

Scaling (Cleaning)

Cleaning involves removal of plaque and calculus. Gingivitis is a mild form of periodontal disease and results in the inflammation of the gums. Severe gum problems result in bone loss of varying degrees and needs surgical removal of plaque and calculus

Fillings

Cavities or decay occurs when enamel and dentin in some instances get emineralized and infected due to bacteria. Filling is a procedure in which this infected and demineralized part of the tooth/teeth is removed and the space filled with a choice of filling material

Root Canal Therapy (RCT)

Spontaneous pain and throbbing, sensitivity to hot and cold foods, severe decay or an injury that crates an abscess (infection) in the bone necessitates removal of the infected or irritated nerve tissue that lies within the root of the tooth. It is this infected pulp tissue that causes an eventual abscess The procedure involves removing the infected pulp, cleaning and sealing of the root canal with a sterile, plastic material, called gutta percha This is done in order to prevent possible future infection. Root canals usually are followed up with crowns to protect the tooth from fracture

 Crown & Bridges

Crowns strengthen and protect a weak tooth structure and improves the appearance of your teeth. Crowns can be made from different materials which include the full porcelain crown, the porcelain fused-to-metal crown and the all-metal crown.

The loss of a single tooth can have a major impact on your dental health and personal appearance. Your teeth support and rely on each other. When one or more teeth are missing, the remaining teeth can shift out of their normal position.

Teeth adjacent to the space or from the opposite jaw will often  drift or tilt. These teeth are often more susceptible to decay and gum disease because they are more difficult to clean around.

All of this shifting and drifting will lead to changes in the bite, which may put stress on the jaws, muscles and teeth. Ultimately, your ability to chew comfortably and your appearance may be affected.

A bridge consists of a replacement tooth/teeth attached to crowns on each side. The bridge is cemented to the teeth adjacent to the space, effectively replacing the missing tooth and preventing any shifting.

The procedures involved in making a bridge are very similar to those for making a crown. Bridges can be made from the same materials as crowns - full porcelain, porcelain fused-to-metal, and all metal.

At least two appointments are necessary. At the first visit, your dentist will prepare the teeth next to the missing tooth for crowns. An impression of the prepared teeth will be made and a temporary bridge will be placed.

At the subsequent visit, your dentist will fit and adjust the bridge and then cement it in place

Dentures

Few people want to have their teeth extracted just to look better. But when restoring the teeth is impossible because there is simply not enough tooth structure left, dentures are an alternative.

It is important from a cosmetic standpoint, however, that you need not allow too much time to lag between tooth loss and tooth replacement. Tooth loss causes the face to collapse and the mouth to sink in. At the same time, the nose appears to drop down towards the chin. Deep lines begin to from in the creases of this collapses skin, adding years to the face.

Full dentures can make you look younger because there is almost no limit to what the dentist can create with them.

Immediate Dentures

Immediate dentures are measured for size with the natural teeth intact, and they are placed the same day as your remaining teeth are extracted. With this type of denture, you skip the try in stages that accompany the fitting of other models. Because gums and bone tend to shrink after extraction, these dentures may become loose.

Conventional Dentures

Fitting conventional dentures typically requires three to six office visits after all of the teeth have been removed and the tissue has healed. It is up to you during these visit to pass judgment on the fit and look of the dentures. Your dentist will advise you on color, tooth type and lip position. If the color is too white, the dentures will look artificial.

Hyper Sensitivity Relief

Receding gums can lead to hypersensitivity. As gums recede, sensitive root surfaces can be vulnerable to decay. Exposed root surfaces contain microscopic tubules in the dentin that lead into the tooth's center. These tubules channel stimulation from cold, heat, acids and sweets into the tooth's nerve center. This nerve stimulation results in pain.

Treatment for Sensitivity

Medicated tooth pastes & mouth washes containing stannous fluoride/sodium mono-fluoro phosphate & strontium chloride builds protection against painful sensitivity of the teeth due to cold, heat, acids, sweets or contact.

With daily use, they uniformly occludes dentinal tubules, building up a protective layer to provide optimal sensitivity relief. The advantage in stannous fluoride formulation is that it creates a densely mineralized layer, formed from stable stannous fluoride and salivary minerals, across the dentinal surfaces. This blankets exposed roots in a protective fluoridated covering which helps make them more resistant to demineralisation. The blocking of open tubules leads to effective pain relief.

This also builds a protective fluoridated layer, the fluoride is incorporated into the dentin to help fight caries and keep teeth healthy.

The minor or major abrasions are then restored with the tooth colored restorative materials viz. L.C. GIF or L.C. Composites.

Extraction & Surgeries

One of the main goals of modern dentistry is the prevention of tooth loss. All possible measures should be taken to preserve and maintain your teeth because the loss of a single tooth can have a major impact upon your dental health and appearance. However, it is still sometimes necessary to remove a tooth. Teeth need to be extracted when one or more of the following conditions exist.

  • Severe Decay

  • Advanced periodontal disease

  • Infection or abscess

  • Orthodontic correction

  • Malpositioned teeth

  • Fractured teeth or roots

  • Impacted teeth

Improving Smiles

The smile is your most important feature. In conversation, people will focus on your mouth. But before you utter a word, your smile will speak volumes about you. An attractive smile can improve your entire appearance and enhance self-esteem and a more youthful smile can take years off your look. It can help build the self-confidence we all need to enjoy uninhibited interaction with others.
